check out an app called "Magic Hour". same as the iPhone version, and does the Insta/Hipsta stuff quite well. (Also, you can create your own filters, and upload them for others to download)

all the people saying "just like LastFM then?"... well, obviously. But there is nothing wrong with a little competition, it is what drives innovation (and lots of people aren't happy with LastFM - I haven't been happy with it since they bolted a radio onto Audioscrobbler :p)

You can get plugins for Photoshop to do that automatically, but the results aren't as good as loading the image into PainterX and doing it yourself, brush-stroke by brush-stroke.

definitely MyPaint. Use it all the time. It has its quirks, but it's almost as good as Painter or other software costing hundreds (*almost* - if you're just getting started I would recommend MyPaint as the go-to tool of choice. When your art outgrows it then you can look at the commercial alternatives)

hmm. If you don't want distrations, don't have Tweetdeck, Growl, Chome etc open in the first place. Save that for home or your smartphone.

Hmm.. gave me a bluescreen on one of my machines, wierd. Had to uninstall Catalyst and the ATI driver, then it worked ok.

sounds like a backdoor way of getting every photo on the Facebook network tagged with a person (or, at least, get an actual person to verify that the machine has auto-tagged it correctly).
