If you add/download the Google APIs (from the Choose Packages to install part), then set up a Virtual Machine using the Google API instead of the Android API, then you get cool stuff like Google Maps app and syncing of Google contacts. Just in case you were wondering :)

ok, how would we copy music/photos/stuff to our virtual SD card?

@OrganizedFellow: Sense is optimised for the device it runs on (Desire etc), not for other devices. Runs perfectly well and fast on the Desire :)

wow, I had just this on my Nokia years ago. AMAZING, that futuristic iPhone4 tech...

@heath: ?? The piece doesn't mention Android, and only two of the comments below mentioned Android, so why so defensive? If Apple has a problem, Apple has to fix it. If they lose sales from their "cover up" and blaming users, then that's their fault too. They are a business, not a religion.

@salviati: yeah. But no-one ever said "Anyone can write an extension for Chrome?! It'll be flooded with crap!" - maybe, but the good stuff bubbles to the top (via articles in Lifehacker etc).

PC: free (most people have one already)

@nighttimestereo: yeah, that was my main problem. If it isn't an open and freely readable article, then don't link to it unless 1) it is worth it and 2) it is made clear that it is a paywall/ppv site being linked to.

@The SmacK: the only reason really would be iPhone App developing. But then, you could just develop your idea for Android instead and (potentially) make more cash (because the market isn't as flooded yet).

@fleebailey33: and you think all those thousand of Macs bootcamping Windows actually went out and bought the thing? come on...

@zombiejebus: No, it does say if you're uncomfortable with downloading it, then go out and buy it. So, you (and many others on LH, including me) would fall into that latter category. Big deal. It's a cool old-skool "hack".

GoogleMusic is going to have to be pretty special to compete with Spotify on the droid

Please don't link to paywall articles, whether NYtimes or UK Times. Don't encourage them....

@Al Iguana: yeah, according to VLC it is playing the lo-rez FLV stream, instead if high-rez MP4 stream. #fail

good stuff - except VLC always plays the 360 rubbish version, instead of the HD version (when I paste in the "share" url). Is there a &fmt18 switch or something I need to be hitting?)

@y0himba: Spotify is £120 a year, which is... $180? So its not too bad.

@Seeräuber Jenny: I dunno.. washing a big pile of dirty dishes is sometimes the only "downtime" I get. Time to think and let my mind wander.

@piezeppelin: they just turn the lights down to show the glow of the desk/spotlights/leds etc. Makes a better, more atmospheric photo - better than a 60watt bulb and angle-poise anyway.

vote: Wordpress, Tumblr, Posterous, Blogger. Each are brilliant, and since (the last 3) are free no reason you shouldn't have one.

@InklingBooks: seconded and thirded the OneNote suggestion.
