@eagledrc: CS4 isn't THAT much different or improved on CS3 really. Some good new features in each of the apps, but not enough to make you upgrade unless you specifically need those features for something. All great stuff, but certainly nothing "wow... awesome" in there.
good proof-of-concept, but whats the point really? Short URLs in Tweets or FB status is one thing, why would you need them in an email?
I signed up for Pownce on the back of hype, but I can honestly say that it's probably the only 2.0 thing that I've never been back to. (I generally sign up for EVERYTHING, and usually give them a fair shot before giving up. Pownce was like... meh... why am I here again?)
@goodywitch: try uninstalling it, going to your program folder and deleting the Handbrake folder, reboot then reinstall.
@KendrickGadgetscenti: wow.. you're lucky, it takes about 5-6 hours to convert one on my machine. But then I do h264.
@brabochoke: in a word, yeah.
@dagwud: DVD Fab > Handbrake > iPod/AppleTV/Xbox/PS/XBMC. Simple, efficient, even my mother can do it (and does)
@matthewhooper: yeah, my old PC struggles with 264, so I queue up a few and go to bed. Simple.
awesome, awesome and fantastic. And just in time for all those Xmas DVDs... erm.. I mean...
@TITECH: that's been featured before. Nothing wrong with a bump though :)
@sumocat: agreed. it's not adding anything, just works better with screen-reader software.
agree with the sentiments above. A whole industry has grown up around patching holes in Windows via anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewalls etc... just fix the OS! I don't care about spyware and virus businesses, they are just leeches imo (I would NEVER pay for a virus checker or similar)

I haven't used a fax machine since 1999, so I guess I've already ditched that. Need a landline to get broadband (in the UK), so can't ditch that. Use printer/scanner/burner daily, so absolutely couldn't ditch those (Blueray burner would be nice, when they become cheap enough)
actually, come to think of it, W7 should be offered as a "service pack" via Windows update for all Vista users (and boxed for everyone else). Afterall, we've been beta-testing Windows7 since... well, since Vista came out ;)
as long as they do ONE version of the thing, not home, school, business, professional, extreme, far out, cosmic, etc etc.
C64 basic was awesome for its time. I remember writing a WP program on it (because they didn't have any in school) and my teacher accused me of software piracy :-D
@The Limority Report: No, the version 6 trial on the website is free for 30 days. The serial is for version 5 of the software, which you can find on magazine coversidks or elsewhere.
@discotechnological: it's also to do with the fact that old camera lenses weren't mass-produced to the same level they are today. Better materials, better quality-control. I've got an old lens and I find the build and optics considerably better than the modern equivilent.
