But the opinion of most Lifehackers (and Apple computer) is that it's better to have your commonly used icons in a dock, that way they're not spread out all over the screen. in 20 years when we all operate computers via a 50" multi-touch flatscreen on the wall (like that browser 3.0 thing a while back) I can see interfaces like this coming into play.

Comodo, simply because it's free. I won't pay for a firewall on principle, same way I'd never pay for a virus checker on principle. If it exists to cover up holes in the operating system, then it should either be free or the OS manufacturer should pick up the tab imo.
