I understand that I don't have to use those features. But the point is, those features are still going to load themselves as the whole webapp gets loaded which is resource and time consuming. And what about extra steps being added to begin the call. Though providing similar functionality, video calls and hangouts are

Yes, the screen real estate is the same! But just two people 'hanging out' doesn't make sense. I unnecessarily get the clutter on the screen. Let alone everything else. As long as I have experienced, the procedure for hangout is definitely longer than one click video call. Secondly, UI of hangouts is really resource

I really don't want this! Hangouts are too much for simple one to one video call. I just want to able able to click a button and make the call. Now this would add unnecessary clutter. I really don't look forward to share documents and videos while talking with my mom. Also, it would increase the number of steps like

But instead of placing a subtle set of buttons on the cord

Agreed! Really. I have had similar feeling about Evernote. I understand that developers make money over advertising features, but I see no point in adding unrelated features. I don't know about the other people, but I still don't get the point of sharing every song that I hear.

Exactly my point! But I had similar discussion once with Whitson and some other commenter. They made me conclude that all programs are apps. Though, considering utilities and platforms like AHK, Flash, Java etc. apps doesn't seem quiet right.

Yes! I miss the fluidity and functionality of Windows Phone keyboard on Android. It just feels more responsive.

I don't think stars make sense in the new system! I read something like that on Gizmodo. And even Thorin doesn't seem to have one.

I suddenly notice that the new commenting system has been incorporated. First Gizmodo and now Lifehacker! Does that mean we'd see change propagating all over the Gawker media? Any way to see all comments like before? I have strong feeling that only the first thread would get most of the audience.

Exactly my point! I guess, HTC sense does similar thing, not sure. Proud to be developer for platform which is so well designed!

No offence, but I think you're missing something here. Basically, what happens is, you just fetch the contact information shared by your friends to your phone. Its just good to have as people update (or they should, at least) the phone numbers and email ids on Facebook. You aren't giving anything to the company,

You still can untag yourself from the photos! You have to click on options button which appears when you hover over the photo. Okay, the process is obscure making it practically impossible to untag.

There's part of world where you have to wait for 20ish minutes to watch 10 minute YouTube video. Haven't you heard about buffering? And speaking of physical media, they're the only option when you screw up machine so badly that bootloader and BIOS need to be played with.

You're not the minority. People use it because they have to use it. Otherwise, its typically pain. Even you'd install it if you get any iOS device!

One more thing happened to me. I had most of the Email notifications disabled. A day ago, I was suddenly thrown out saying that the account has been disabled temporarily. After a minute or so, everything was fine but almost all of the email notifications were enabled. Funny? Creepy?

Wait a minute! Does this article somehow imply that iTunes is a primary music player? In that case, either you're ignorant enough not to know the existence of Windows or you're a masochist using iTunes on Windows to actually play music.

Problem with the Dropbox is that its always 'Waiting for faster connection' because I live with GPRS/EDGE connection. Now, I'll have to manually connect to WiFi which makes it less 'automatic'. Thanks anyway.

I'm looking for a bit elegant solution. Didn't you read? There are tools for various platforms. I want them to work coherently!

Better you leave it at that! For me, mid-June weather is 47° Celsius here in Kanpur - which is not at all enjoyable! Anyway, what's the fuss with US engineering? Congratulations.
