Do you not realize that things take time to build?? The Warriors, Cavs, Thunder all took time to build.

“Without producing anything of value”???

You really don’t like Hinkie huh

I like how the live stream of this thing got about half as many viewers as the Dario Saric landing in Philly stream

No shit, your opinion took little effort to make? What a surprise. We’re making progress here.

I thought his resignation letter was brilliant. Which part of it didn’t you like/agree with?

You start off by saying you don’t care, and end by calling him a douchebag.

Listen you don't have to be terrible in order to draft a great player, but you do need luck. Sam Hinkie realized this and left less to luck and more to a methodolical strategy. You may not like it, but there's no question it improves the odds.

Over the past five seasons, more than 60 percent of the players who made an All-NBA team were top-five picks (and 76 percent came from the top 10).

All right, high level arguments right there. Good talking to you.

NOOOO you're measuring failure by the end result. Hinkie wasn't trying to build a competitive team. Why is this so hard to understand?

The whole Sixers not having a team identity is the most overrated and boring take there is. They had a high place / defensive identity the first two years. Last year when Brand joined the team he said he was expecting a young team with no identity or good habits, and was shocked to discover how professional everything

They are obviously still far from contending, but now that they have their cornerstone/s they can go on to the next stage. Had they began building their team earlier they probably wouldn’t have got Simmons.

But they are closer to contending now then they were 3 years ago. You not seeing that is the root of your misunderstanding.

But if you need to lose anyway (in order to get a high pick), why not go all in and use your team as a place where you can audition young talent (IE Covington) and really let the yungens play? This is the part that I found most enjoyable in the past 3 years. Way more interesting and entertaining than 3 years of being

“No one is making a killer trade package based on a half dozen second round picks.”

I never said or implied that every high draft pick will become a star. What I’m saying is the following:

You’re right, anyone can assemble a shit roster. SH did way more than that. He created so many assets from virtually nothing. I don’t think any GM in the history of the NBA walked in to as good of a job as Colangelo. You’re over simplifying what Hinkie did if you think all he did was tank. He made deals with 18

Nowhere did I say that Kyrie was as good as Wade (although I happen to think that he is a star an is miles ahead of ET or MCW). Nor did I say that the decision had nothing to do with Cleveland being his home town. All I said is that LeBron isn’t going back to Cleveland if they don’t have stars. He doesn’t. Same as he

You strike me as a casual fan. One which doesn’t know the intricacies of Hinkie’s work. You sound bitter. But the fact of the matter is, we now have not 1, but 2 superstar level talents. We wouldn’t have had that without SH. Debate is over.
