Nice rant, but it really is logical for one simple reason. If usenet and free hosting sites favour multiple split files, then having the torrent in its un-RARed form lets people grab individual files from it as they see fit.

I play on the PC because aside from a $150-200 discrete gpu, there is no additional cost to bring a regular desktop up to gaming specs. People routinely gripe about the intial investment, while forgetting a PC is for a lot more stuff than just gaming. Your $300 console can't do much else beyond gaming, maybe stream…
