I agree, but you don't see people defending a movie like 'Collateral Beauty' by saying, "It's just for stupid/sentimental/Will Smith-loving adults, let them enjoy it."

The "it's made for kids" argument that gets dragged out so often makes no sense to me. Do kids not deserve quality entertainment that isn't dumbed down? Do they not deserve stories that are well-written? Do you judge the books you read your kids the same way? "Well it rhymed so whatever. There were pictures in it."
