The same way Ethelrida knows enough about mob dealings to narrate the whole story: it’s local lore that gets passed around. I’m guessing people at funerals like to gossip and she has probably overheard plenty.

Plus it is amazing how little Glynn Turman has aged since A Different World 25 (!) years ago.

I would totally geek out if this series had ties to Miller’s Crossing. The city it takes place in and the name of the (Irish?) crime family are not specified, per IMDB. If it turns out Leo was a Milligan, that would be too cool.

I was thinking the ghost might be some sort of hallucination from embalming chemical fumes, but then that wouldn’t explain why it was in the outlaw’s tub...

Agreed. I would be a lot more invested in Loy if Rock’s acting weren’t so inconsistent. I know he can pull off drama from his New Jack City days, but his monologues are lacking gravitas. His best speech was with the wife and MIL, the emotion of which I’m guessing is easier for him to tap into.

I’ve been off Naomi since All Stars 4 - kicking off Manila and then not even making the top 3. Maybe it’s the edit, but she and Yvie give off similar energy.

I was fully expecting to see my favorite unintentionally funny, ridiculous, cringeworthy, and laughably pretentious lyric, the inimitable: “have you come here to play Jesus to the lepers in your head?” from U2's “One”

I’m glad Priyanka got a shout-out from Shea. She actually kind of reminds me of Miz Cracker, though ;-)

Another thought on Cracker (as an avid fan of her Youtube series, Review with a Jew): I don’t think she’s a ‘comedy queen’ like Bianca so much as a ‘look queen with a sense of humor/intelligence like, say, Jackie Cox. That’s why she was competitive with Aquaria in her original season and why she looked so amazing in

Favorite moment of this episode: “I may be pretty on the outside, but on the inside I’m PURE GARBAGE.”

I’m just getting caught up on this one after watching the Perry Mason premiere and I have to say, maybe I’m crazy but I’m liking this a little better. Despite being a horror show, it’s less grim than the Depression-era True Detective feel of Mason. Maybe it’s because I like Daniel Zovatoo as Det. Vega. His dance with

Tim Van Patten’s involvement is encouraging. If this show can bring back some of Boardwalk Empires excellent & underused supporting cast, HBO might get back in my good graces.

Again, I think I liked this episode better than most - I just love this cast and I’ll watch them do anything. I’m disappointed that Shea, Mariah, and Cracker didn’t do more with the Golden Girls concept because it could have been much funnier than it was. I thought the 24 Karat room was the most over-the-top funny, so

So far, I’m enjoying this season more than I’ve enjoyed RPDR in a while. AS 3 and 4 were such disappointments that I should know better than to get my hopes up, but I’m just so happy to see this cast again (minus Derrick, who they better NOT bring back for more Britney).

I feel like she’s getting the Acid Betty edit on this series - which also hopefully means she’ll get some chance to redeem herself.

Double-post withdrawn - still figuring this sh*t out...

I am excited about this album. The Magic was pretty solid, as was their collaboration with Ensemble Dal Niente. The advance singles on this one are promising too.

You too Run-Run! Come back to the TI Forum if Kinja becomes enraging.

Linder was actually Howard Devoto's (of Buzzcocks and Magazine) girlfriend. There's never been any suggestion that her relationship with Morrissey is/was more than platonic. I think it's nice that they've apparently stayed friends - I imagine that is a rarity for Moz.

"There’s a shit-ton of pop songs. And lately, there’s been so many that have champions—like, “This is fucking game-changing.” And I’m like, no, it’s not! This is not changing any game at all. We are really, literally going nowhere with this one. At most, it sounds like a Regina Spektor B-side.
