I think it should have replaced "I Can Change".

I am now! But I don't really know how to use it. Is there a Chicago meetup thread?

How about another meetup? Want to see something at the Music Box or the Logan Theater?

For real? That is scary. Hope you have a good support system and that they're able to help you get stable. Good luck.

If you need a non-drinking buddy to hang with in Chicago, let me know!

I agree with Mrs. A - and I would add, for the alcoholics I've known in my life, it really helps to see a therapist and/or attend meetings to start exploring the causes of those feelings of stupidity/self-hatred. It's an illness that needs treatment. But first you have to care enough about your health and well-being

Ugh! That sounds terrible. "Seasick…" is too good a song to be a punchline.

You know what I always say: "Talent borrows, genius steals."

I said this elsewhere on the thread, but I think young Morrissey and the Smiths really capture the way you feel when you are in your teens or early 20s. I can appreciate how much the songs meant to me when I was younger while also acknowledging that Uncle Moz is a bit of a twat. Still great when he does these songs

Aw, come on, at least 70/30.

Zoe D. should be banned from any/all association with the Morrissey/Marr catalog.

True! I've always said that the real appeal of the Smiths is the acerbic humor and the underlying sentiment that 'I'm not fucked up; it's the world that's fucked up'.

Strangeways is also my favorite - I have it on vinyl! And if I had to pick a favorite song, it's "I Won't Share You"

Ugh, 500 Days of Summer made me mad. If you listen to the whole body of work, the Smiths were more often angry/bitter than straight up sad/mopey like, say, the Cure. As a teenager, that's what really resonated with me: the sense that 'I'm not the problem; the whole world is the problem'. Morrissey can be self-pitying

In Quills, he was one sexy honey badger. Rawr.

Yeah, I like Wyatt Cenac - I think he as talent and the Michael Steele puppet is one of the best recurring bits the Daily Show ever had. However, he also strikes me as a young guy who has some issues to work out, professionally and personally. I don't think Cenac brought this up so that it could become 'a thing' since

I would just like to state that I love the original Casino Royale. It is drug-induced 60's excess at its finest - totally bonkers and totally watchable. A great double bill with Barbarella.

Only picking from Season 5 on, my wishlist is: Alaska, Detox, Alyssa Edwards, April Carrion, Joslyn Fox, Adore Delano (would also accept Milk or Trinity K. Bonet), Katya, Miss Fame, Pearl (would also accept Kennedy Davenport).

Glad that Shamir got some recognition. His set was worth slipping in the mud for and he was lovely at the record-signing afterward.

Thank you! I figured it was something like that.
