I’ve said it so many times now over the years - for my money I don't think I've seen a show in my 50 years that made better use of music than did The Americans. The soundtrack was practically a character in itself.

It was criminal that we didn’t get more episodes - it was so damned good.

I was a fan of Stewart’s from his MTV days, and I can remember going in short order from “What is TDS going to be without Kilborn?” to “I can’t WAIT to see what TDS will be with Jon Stewart!”

I mean, I know that one person isn’t anything more than anecdotal, but head gasket issues were the driving factor in me getting rid of my beloved 2007 Forester after a good 10-year run; the cost of repair for that plus a couple of other issues added up to a down payment on a newer vehicle.

Wait until you find out that the bear is actually an uncredited Noah Emmerich!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this clip over the last year or so. It's perfect.

The Americans permanently affected so many songs for me, where now I can’t hear them without being taken back to the scenes in which they were used - for example, I can no longer hear Fleetwood Mac without thinking that shit’s about to get real. Roxy Music, Yaz, Peter Gabriel...

Split the difference - they're more a reference to Mods from the mid-1960s - early 1970s. See The Who's Quadrophenia for reference. They make the references more obvious when you get a better look at their bikes (loaded up with superfluous mirrors). The fact that they "mod" themselves with droid parts makes it pretty
