I’m really, truly sorry that you are dealing with that, and I hope you continue to manage things as well as it sounds like you already are. Best of luck to you <3

OMG that is crazy! I was just telling someone that I am terrified of being pregnant in the heat of summer, doing a huge move, and hitting up grad school (not sure if that’s your trajectory too, but still). Bless you for being able to pull all of that off!
I’m so sorry that happened to you and I hope you get through everything alright, and quickly. Sometimes focusing on your career can make things go very well in that department. If you find some free time, maybe look for something else to do to keep you busy? I know you’re not necessarily looking, but it might help…
Meds are wonderful, so good on you for reaching out and getting the support you need! I definitely felt the same way when I went through some big changes, so that is pretty normal.
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry. I hope the cortisone shots work. I think that’s what they gave me when my knee swelled up earlier this year.
Honestly, I’ve gone back and forth - I spoke to a prospective advisor, and she recommended that I apply straight to their Ph.D program (!!!!!) although it’s been a decade+ since I was in school full-time. I’m pretty set on getting an MA and then maybe an MBA, since I want to open my own business/continue working in…
Wow, that definitely sounds difficult and emotionally draining. I’m glad you have your dad as a support system. I’m very close to mine, always have been, and I know that it helps to have a parent in your corner.
oh nice! we’re in the same place - looking at kids soonish, and trying to get ourselves together before we tackle that hurdle. Good luck with the job hunt, and potential move.
That is tough, but good on you for taking that step and facing your issues. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Thanks - I prepared for it last year and took some time off since it came on the heels of an incredibly stressful job. I have a ton of resources so I will dig those up again and hope for the best.
Good luck to you. We’re dealing with the fallout from that and isn’t fun - I hope your tenure is brief and that you are able to move back out ASAP.
OMG that is so amazing! I hope everything goes well - those are such big, adult steps! Good for you!
Thanks - I’ve taken practice tests before and was scoring slightly below my comfort threshold which is why I pushed the test to this year. A lot is hinging on my performance and grad school acceptances, so I’m really hoping things go well :o/
Thank you and good luck with your pregnancy - that certainly sounds challenging. I am hoping the best for you and your family. <3
oooh nice move though! I know that feeling - you gained humidity but I’m sure it will be worth it.
ooooh, which way if I may ask? The first time I moved from coast to coast, it took me FOREVER to adjust and really enjoy life again. I hope everything works out for you, and that the job is amazing!
Good luck - I left that industry and haven’t looked back because it was so rough for me. I definitely think teachers deserve combat pay and TONS more respect than they ever receive. I hope you find a place that values you, where you can work happily for as long as you want.
Ooooh, I like both of those options to be honest. Telecommuting is always fantastic, provided you can still maintain a relatively nice living arrangement. I hope things go well for you and that you end up with the job that best fits your lifestyle.
I am really, really sorry to hear about your situation with your parents. For what it’s worth, I completely understand both sides of that - both the disease/illness aspect and cutting people out. Sometimes it’s better to do that, than deal with all of the mishegas that comes along with keeping someone around.
More money is always a nicer perk. I reduced my paycheck slightly but the pd/additional duties are so much more manageable, and my current job actually values me and makes me feel less like human cattle. Definitely try and see if you can attain a work-life balance, because this will be the first job I leave that I…
