Oh I’m really aware of horses and proper horse behavior. I’m probably overly gentle with them because of their size and because they can be so sensitive. I’m as horsey of a person as you can be without taking formal lessons.

It’s western riding I think - apparently I’ve done European in the past, because I remember using my legs to squeeze the horse but with my most recent ride and stable, you just tilt your heels to indicate. I hope that I have that right!
