I just read all seven of the books this summer, and found this movie to be totally disappointing. I didn't mind the little changes here and there (like the non-existence of Bill Weasely and how Ginny and Harry get together) but I hated how different the ending was from the book.

I think every single item on this list is true, but I can't hate Allen for them. They're so much a part of him, so much a part of what makes his work compelling, that I find them endearing. I'm sure I'm not the only black feminist who has a couple of Allen DVD box sets.
