Playing it for the first time and loving it. The controls aren’t GREAT, but they’re not that bad either. That said, considering that this is the improved version, I can easily see how the original version must have been frustrating as hell. Overall, the story and the dungeons are fantastic.

Eh, I might be okay with this change. AFAICT, the .puz format isn’t known for being easy to work with, and I suspect their tech team would be thrilled to stop supporting it. (There are already plenty of puzzles where the “theme” is broken for Across Lite users.)

Did they specifically say that they weren’t going to provide an API for their new format or just that they weren’t going to use that widely-used format anymore?

There are a few ex-Kotaku writers at Polygon, and a couple at Vice, but mostly they’re just getting scooped up by sites that don’t treat their employees like shit, unfortunately. It definitely sucks.
