Nintendo is always a different story (cheaper consoles; always seem to underestimate popularity). And the shortage the past six months was almost certainly driven by the Switch being THE impulse buy during a once in a lifetime pandemic, in part due to Animal Crossing. Basically this isn’t the comparison you want.

Wow. There’s nothing dismissive about that. It is indeed, aesthetically, a cute game. You play a cute light little spirit who grew up in a cute little forest with its cute chubby guardian.

This story is significantly more uplifting than I expected it to be.

How do I give this 1000 stars, because this is entirely it. I understand wondering where it went for the memes, but the answer is really obvious folks. It’s not some conspiracy against the game. This collection is clearly a Mario game representing each of the last three generations.

This is the correct take. The physics and unstable controls make it frustrating as hell. It’s not fun to play. 

I’ll do my due diligence and add that it was officially announced that this ISN’T Arkhamverse, which is just so unnecessarily annoying. Let’s use a similar aesthetic and plot beats but have it be something completely different. Why? 

His intro in the trailer looks like Damien, right? But Tim makes more sense, since Damien hasn’t been introduced in the Arkhamverse.

It COULD plausibly take place in the Arkhamverse. It would be kinda weird if it didn’t, since it seems to pick up where Knight left off and has a similar aesthetic. 

There’s a very prominent wheelchair in the scene at 1:15, so I assumed that’s hinting Babs Got Better and can patrol as Batgirl again.

Single piece?! lol, that’s not possible. My initial reaction is Scars of Time from Chrono Cross, but then I’m leaving out Zanarkand and Dancing Mad and almost everything from the Kingdom Hearts series. Not to mention a bunch of Zelda stuff, and the Pokemon BW soundtrack is an absolute hidden gem, let me tell you.

Given that the Arkham games are a big reason why early impressions of Avengers are meh—because Rocksteady set the bar so high—I don’t think your comparison is apt.

I’m still not over how they didn’t anticipate FF7R being a massive success.
