I am not sure I can accept Ray leaving. I definitely don’t think I could accept the show without Sara

Also the Ray-Nate sincere, emotional best friendship is like nothing else on TV and is one of the most special aspects of the show & is really a shame to lose, apparently for no very good reason

I have missed a lot of the Legends who left earlier, especially Snart and Jax and Stein, but also Wally and Rip. Not the Hawkpeople or Mona, though. None of them was the team MVP like Ray though, he is in a different, I fear irreplaceable category, like Sara is

Abruptly writing Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford off mid-season like that despite their wishes seems somewhat unprofessional to me, and perhaps worse I really think it does not serve the show well at all. Ray is the heart of the team, a needed stabilizing figure among all the madness, cast changes, and wild cards.

Black Lightning seems to benefit from its seasons being between 13 and 16 episodes, that & Legends of Tomorrow having shorter seasons than the other ArrowVerse shows & being consistently higher quality with tighter storytelling would seem like more than a coincidence. 

Routh said as much on Twitter when the announcement was originally made a few months back. He was understandably very salty about the whole thing. Nate keeps getting his heart broken and now his best friend Ray is going to leave him! I feel bad for the poor dope. Hopefully he at least gets original Zari back to help console him, or at least tell him to get over it, which would be more her style 

To be fair, it doesn’t say Shakespeare is the encore, just that they meet Shakespeare. The encore could be Christopher Marlowe for all we know.
