It doesn't matter what Google+ wants to become or not become. If Google+ wants to succeed, it has to do that: addictive games are part of a huge engine powering facebook. If Google+ doesn't, it'll likely end up as social roadkill.

Meh. As much as I'd love for this to succeed, I don't think it will. A huge reason why FB is what it is, is because of the mind-crack-addictive social games on FB. Without something similar for users to become addicted upon, I don't see this succeeding.
I've been looking into iPad notetaking apps, and I've yet to find one that I really like. The ones that I've been looking at are, in no particular order:
Agreed. I'll be amazed if they're still around in a year.

If I didn't have a horribly noisy CPU heatsink fan, the two 120mm case fans would be causing the most noise (they're noticeable, but not much). The fan in my energy-efficient (but expensive) power supply doesn't normally turn on (it only comes on when needed).
I, too, have the MSI Cyclone GTX460, and it really is a nice card. It's also not very noisy, although I'm not overclocking it.
If you want to save a little money, the current CPU sweet spot is the Core i5-2500K, which is around $100 cheaper than the i7-2500K. While the i7 is the one to get if you can afford it, many people don't think the performance increase is worth paying $100 more. It's also unlocked and overclockable, if you're into…
I want to know how the people in Malaysia did this 150-200 years ago, without o-rings and PVC. That would be a much more interesting story.
Is this the new hipster chic?
You really need to read the news more. One example: [techcrunch.com]
Yes, John Gruber's comment points to an old post by Michael Mace, which pretty much nails it.
While this is a nice update, I'm still waiting for contact groups. MobileMe/iCloud has it, as well as android, and this is basically telling iOS users to not use google sync (for contacts, at least).
(just a side comment) Huskies are great dogs, but I hope you're familiar with the breed characteristics: needs lots of exercise (underexercised dogs can be unholy destructive), stubborn/independent (not as easy to train as other dogs), blows coat twice yearly (will turn your home into a snowglobe), etc., etc.. If you…
Heh, wait until someone of just the right size/image walks between them. The cart may start following the other person. Good luck getting the cart and laptop back....
It needs airbags and auto-stabilizing gyroscopes, as well as a padded roll/crash cage.
Yes, some college students in Japan supposedly suffer from malnutrition from eating too much ramen. It may be cheap, but it's basically carbs and salt. Sure, you can add vegetables, but you also need protein, too
Unless you're in an area where the 2.4 GHz bands are congested, 5 GHz is probably a waste of money, because the 5GHz signals are much more easily attenuated by walls, mirrors, furniture, etc., etc.. Distance-wise, the 2.4 GHz bands are usable over a wider area. Sure, you can use 5GHz, but, unless your 2.4GHz bands…
