Oh goodness, what's she going to do when she discovers reddit?

I feel like they could have said the Black Album? I do hear bit of One in the fade-out riff on Baby Blue.
Production-wise at least, Boston's first two albums are two of the best sounding rock albums ever. Plus those two albums kick ass.
I believe this is also reflected in the lyrics and mood of many of the songs (especially title track on Sunbather and Dream House)
I will say it so no one else has to. Needs guitars, would be better if this album rocked instead of just plunked.
I felt exactly the same way. Most of my experience on this album falls into the latter
I don't know what canon Nevermind is occupying or what that means. So I'm just going to assume what you apparently deciphered. It's a sonically well made album, although RATM's debut does it much better.
I'm confused about how this is related to my post
Preferable to Gargoyle Weekday
Not sure what you guys would think on this, but I am convinced that The Colour and The Shape is the best "sounding" rock album ever produced. The combination of the way it's mixed, the tone of the guitar, and that face-punching snare drum sound for me is, the IDEAL. Close seconds are Fantastic Planet and Downward is…
I honestly just kind of found the album to feel like a stripped down and underdeveloped Cloud Nothings outtake reel, but it's got some good ideas at the very least.

Welp, its back to torrents and stealing from my old housemate for me!
It's not their best album, but it has a lot of good songs that I'm glad came out. At 18 tracks including segues it has a bit of filler, but so did Fantastic Planet.
Has claudio lost weight? Seriously, I remember him being much larger back from the In the Keeping of Secrets days (which is also still a fantastic album)
Not sure why the AV Club didn't also review Failure's new album, but that's the example that Refused should have taken for a band to come back from a fantastic legacy.
I really like Cloud Nothings, would I like Wavves? should I care about Wavves?
Jimmy's drumming is the only salvageable part of Zeitgeist.
I was at a bar once and a drunk guy was trying to convince me that Celebrity Skin was an unappreciated masterpiece. He also told me he was a professional race car driver in California, but this conversation took place in South Bend, IN. Take from that what you will.
Saw these guys open for Cloud Nothings in Chicago and were fantastic. CN were great too, but the crowd turned into drunk college douchebags by the time they took the stage, and because of this I have much better memories of Bully as a result.
