I generally agree with much, but would like to toss in one thing. In response to its being “without redeeming qualities,” I found no flaw (other than screen time) with Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.

I agree with you entirely, Charlie Jane! (btw continuing to applaud your ability to write great, non-ruiny headlines). Melissa Benoist continues to nail the character... And LOVING that the show references 90s DC goodness. Harper, Chocos!, Cadmus. Good things happen when the writers use the material. Hoping for a

Not sure what will happen...promises to be a thrilling episode!

First of all, I want to positively applaud your writing style. It shows ability to craft catchy headlines that encourage readers to click on the article, with the artistry to NOT reveal the important moments. You don’t ruin things with pictures, either, and are mindful of the opening “pre-click” paragraph. I hope that

I partially agree with the other commenters, but disagree on one major point : the same impact would have been made...the same article would have been read...but had the author written a headline (for his original post) with more artistry and concern...more people would have gotten SOME kick out of the trailer they

I normally find this author’s usual headline style of “telling readers what to do and think” brusque and overdone. However, in this case - for those of us who have seen and enjoyed the Orson Welles program - it’s less off putting. The show was worthwhile.

...or else...what?

You know, I think you’re right.

It’s kind of a relief to have a stark demonstration of what has been emerging in the Gizmodo/io9 articles lately (or, has it always been that way?).

In addition to Madame Masque, I like the allusions to Hedy Lamarr - who was likely NOT a super villain...!

Remember “Drawing the line at $2.99"...! Ahhhh those were the day.

@io9 I am genuinely curious why you did’t use the article’s actual headline on the Twitter post. It has fewer characters.

This was the most cogent, thoughtful, and well-written comics piece I’ve read on the Kinja-networked sites in weeks.

Oh, no - tell me the episode also didn’t drop in Alessandra Torresani as a winky-reference to nerd cred, and then grossly under utilize her abilities...

Just so glad to see *A* Supergirl title back. I truly hope the show continues - it hits some good notes!

I go to a local comic shop, but you can easily get titles online...

I do, yep - I like them a lot. I have my copy of this issue right here...was just about to read it, and had a little wind taken out of my sails.

Hey, any chance i09 could move away from posting the plot summary (for comics that came out yesterday) in the titles of its articles? ...or...no...?

My money’s on Sam Wilson - since there’s a mysterious new “Captain America #1" slated for Free Comic Book Day in May...

That clip is just awful.
