You should definitely ask her about it as I'm curious myself. However the subject of women/Supernatural came up on her podcast "Girl on Guy" a couple of years ago when she had Jared on her show. This isn't a new thought she made up on the spot at SDCC. This has been a opinion of hers regarding Supernatural for years.

Actually I think asking her about it is a good thing. It's likely that it's been misrepresented and blown out of proportion and she certainly deserves the opportunity to explain it if she wants. Since this is written, she's not on the spot and she can answer or not answer as she likes.
