Porsche took the base model, added a 911 engine, 906 twin-plug heads, 911-S brakes, 911 struts, A-arms and torsion bars, and a LSD. All this stuff came straight out of the parts bin. The particular 914-6 GT pictured won the GT class at LeManns and took 6th overall (as a private entry). From base model to LeManns

I've semi-seriously toyed with the idea of EV-ing my 914 after blowing up my current motor (It's running 14psi boost on stock internals. Grenade it will.) But I'd want to do it with lithium batteries and only enough of them to get me the 10-mile round trip to work and back (at high-dose throttle). It would be an

My first car poster as a kid was a Martini 935. My first RC car was also a Martini 935. 30 years later, still a big fan.

Oh I don't know. I've got a black '97 M3 sedan 5spd with just 89k on the clock. Make me an offer.

Heads you win, tails you get a giant mustache.

Lets make our own list of 11 Cars that ACTUALLY make you cool instead of DB.

Motor Trend called it the best handling car in the world at any price. Today that price is between $4,000-$10,000.

I don't really think it would be stupid if you like working on your own stuff. I have a friend with a v12 7-series and he maintains/repairs it himself. He's had to buy an ODBII reader, an airbag reset tool, and an everything-else reset-tool. He's into these diagnostic tools maybe $300 (bough the 2 BMW-specific tools

@MysticStick: Thank you! It's like you just pulled a 3" deck screw out of my head.

If I could figure out this stupid new site format I would promote your comment, or like it, or heart clicky you or whatever it is I'm supposed to do when a comment is awesome.

Because racecar. That's why.

Thank you for the correction.

I've never EVER adorned my vehicles with a bumpersticker, but I'd rock this one:

Best '60s custom? That would be when some guy named Carol stuffed a 289 Ford V8 in this. Ok, the "best" part came later, but this was where it began.

I love pinewood derby! In fact my church group is having a FAMILY pinewood derby in April. Why should the cub scouts have all the fun! Some families really get into it. Mine is one of them.

I love the Porsche 914, and it's very Jalop. It's got some flaws though. One of them is huge and involves some very basic elements: Gravity, Fire, and Water. I think it's a candidate. But in true Jalop fashion the good news is we can fix it. Pictured is the engine cover area. The cover is made of expanded steel mesh

With production volume of the Mustang as high as it is it's not going to add $5k-10k to the price to give it IRS. That's just silly. I'm definitely not a hater or a troll. Hell, I own a Mustang for crying out loud. I LOVE MUSTANGS!

What I'm saying is why go backwards. They had an IRS for the last gen. chassis. Why go back to a beam unless building a drag car or a rock crawler? Other commenters are right. The results are great, but imagine how much more potential there would have been with a more modern foundation. The worlds best handling cars

If this thing is supposed to be a handler why does it have a solid rear axle? Ford already has an IRS for the Mustang platform! W. T. F.? If you want to build a world beater you need to start with the right basic ingredients. Modern suspension would be a good first step.
