Where I grew up in Indiana, moving more than a county away was frowned upon, especially for women. Having any career dreams larger than a part-time gig at Hobby Lobby was considered unladylike.

Why is this not a bigger story? Why was an elected public official allowed to behave this way with (as-of-now) no repercussions? This kind of stuff wouldn’t even fly working at McDonald’s, so why is it allowed in Congress? Good for AOC for standing her ground and calling out this guy out for the coward that he is, but…

The problem here is that the Jezebel staff is too young to have known Holly Hunter and Jodie Foster when they were young (in Foster’s case VERY young) actors making their mark in excellent films. Their confusion is clearly generational - they might as well be discussing Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman and Barbara Stanwyck.
