No. I just don’t buy your source that the F-35 cost is somehow going to get down to $80 million including engines. That’s not even what LockMart has quoted to any customers yet. And the Air Force has been full of shit about the cost of the F-35 since the beginning. And, suspiciously, somehow each time the cost of the

What movie?

Um... where did you get that the US Navy is escorting Iranian ships? I checked, and all I can find is the Navy escorting US, UK, Kuwaiti, etc. ships NEAR Iran, especially through the Straits of Hormuz. (As if the Navy ships wouldn’t also be dead meat in the Straits)

Slow your roll, bro. Bush or not, it was never going to last, just like the end of WWII didn’t continue with Americans and Soviets singing Kumbaya. Bush actually basically had pretty good relations with Russia, even after Iraq, until Putin started acting like a shithead.

Man, you should check out Stalin’s insanely ambitious post-WWII plans for the Soviet Navy... battleships, battlecruisers and aircraft carriers to challenge the US and UK. All canceled after he died, of course.

It’s not that it hasn’t. It’s that the A-10 has been flying entirely in permissible environments. Modern fighters, SAMs, and even helicopters would eat the A-10 for breakfast.

P-38 compressibility issues were a brand new concern that hadn’t been dealt with ever before, though...

The oddest part about LockMart getting to where they are now, is that they didn’t really acquire a lot of companies, the way Boeing did. Lockheed was doing a little bit of everything, a lot of nothing, then just kinda... exploded, bought GD’s aerospace business, merged with Martin Marietta, etc.

Not when it’s going to cost half a billion dollars just to get the line working again.

Remember when the F-4s got to Vietnam and their missiles didn’t work?
