Tyler literally had a post on this a couple weeks ago. Search under keyword “Syria” then tell him why he’s wrong. Not gonna do your research for you. Don’t just listen to sensationalistic news reports that don’t understand the details.

Yeah, this. If I wake up in the middle of the night and somebody has broken into my house, I’m not going to wait to see if he’s going to leave. I’m going to shoot.
Not sure he’s talking to you. There are a lot of known Russian posters on this site and in this thread that come out of the woodwork to push Russian propaganda, mysteriously, only when the Foxtrot-Alpha story relates to Russian policy or Russian materiel.
This. 100%.
It’s not the first time. Not even close.
You can’t guide a missile optically from 200 miles away, either.
Uh, yeah, I highly doubt the Russian capability in jamming is up to US standards. Maybe at avoiding jamming.
Nope
If the Turks are really that annoyed that people are bombing ISIS, the Russians are the absolute last people they’d be shooting at.
Yes, this article failed to mention something totally insane uttered by Vladimir Putin. Clearly this is a problem.
Maybe because the Russian jet was in Turkish airspace...
Everybody is sick of your Russian bullshit, dude
I would be shocked if the Su-24 wasn’t equipped with a RWR that could detect the AIM-120. As others have pointed out, if it were an AIM-9, that would be different.
Point. If that’s the case, we can be pretty sure that Russian pilots over Syria will start checking their six, especially when sent warnings from Turkish pilots.
I don’t believe the Russians when they say the Turks entered Syrian airspace, and frankly, if they did, it would be incredibly dumb and sloppy of them. Assuming they established visual contact with the Fencer, they likely fired an AIM-9 which is well within its range to be fired across the border at those ranges.
It’s not going to lead to a Russian-Turkish war. I don’t even think Putin will provoke everyone by moving more fighters to Syria. Most likely they’ll just send their Su-30s to patrol just on the Syrian side of the border, licking their chops.
;)
However, it works both ways. The US will not threaten the survival of the Russian Republic through conventional means, because then Russia would be forced to use nuclear weapons. But the US could defeat Russia in a conflict fought far from Russia. They just won’t threaten Russia herself, because even without nuclear…
Unfortunately, I can not read Russian (although my brother does). Somehow, even if the Russians targeted US tectonic borders, I don’t believe the physics works out to make them unlivable. The US west coast gets earthquakes all the time.
That is a very Cold War look at it, and is very conspiratorial to believe that the US or the CIA somehow pushed the people of Ukraine to protest and rise up on their own. The US can’t even stop its own protesters, let alone force thousands of people in Eastern Europe to do it. Remember, Yanukovic fled Ukraine on his…
