Well, I would say it can do for books what Starbucks did for coffee, but burning books is frowned on.

What's the point of playing games if they're not real? Why bother doing anything?

I feel like it’s going to appeal to those people that thought Journey was awesome.

It’s sheer space zen. Different strokes, man. You can play the entire game without ever landing on a planet, strictly being a pirate or a trader or what have you. A true spacey sandbox. Do whatever the balls you want, man. It’s like what Spore’s space stage should have been.

I want this so bad and really hope support for the Oculus Rift isn't too far off after release.

Why do you care? You’re not being forced to read it. At least, I hope you’re not. Do you actively oppose the publication of other works you don’t read or disagree with?

You can mock all you want, but Miller defined what we think of when we think of Batman in the modern era. He also did that for Daredevil - which is why Daredevil seems like a knock-off of Batman without the money. Love him or hate him, Nolan’s movies are pretty much Miller’s first two Batman series. Batman Year One

I hear there are crab people there.

Except that is blatantly and demonstrably untrue. Space exploration has been driving technological advancement since the 50s which has been contributing to solving problems here at home.

“Now” was built on millions of discoveries from yesterday. Many of which were of no practical use at the time.

Both The European Space Agency and NASA have plans for a Mars expedition by 2033 and 2037. A tad less than 2oo years.

“Practical science.”

Oh, you’re just the worst kind of person. Aside from the fact that discovering new things about the universe is intrinsically valuable and one of the good parts about being human, it’s almost by definition impossible to predict what kind of utility pure research will have in the future. We don’t have all our insanely

Even if it were only taking pretty pictures it would be worth the relatively minuscule amount of money we spend on NASA. Those pretty pictures help us understand the universe and there is no more noble a goal than expanding our knowledge on how the shit around us works. If you want to keep on believing the world is

The discovery of water on Mars means several things, actually:

Now playing

“NASA needs to start doing things with practical applications”

A) It already does (what can be more practical than solving the engineering problems behind space travel?);
B) It doesn’t actually have to be immediately practical to be useful.

It’s not a scarce possibility. These water streaks were discovered back in 2011, and NASA spent the last 4 years confirming it with additional evidence. They’re scientists, so they never like to sound too sure about anything, but the reason they finally called a press conference now is because they’re confident

You are absolutely correct. We should never do anything that won’t result in instant gratification RIGHT NOW.

But all that water isn’t going to do us any good with the Ice Warriors willing to fight to the death to defend their homeworld.
