Because calling them “bad people,” or “evil,” or “psychopaths,” or “lunatics,” as all the Republican politicians have done today, absolves us of the responsibility of owning up to the fact that it’s not always “bad people” who do harm with a gun.
There’s a reason for that trend. And the idea that there is no fix to regular, high-death-toll mass shootings is laughable.

So...22 months is a bit young for time-outs to work effectively. I never did time-outs until age 3, when (although the tantrums are epic) they can grasp the idea of consequences and you have a shot that they’ll understand what’s coming and modify their behavior.
