Totally. We had them when I was a kid. Local dairy farm a couple of miles away. Glass bottles too. We also had three, not one but three permanent farmers markets with bakeries, butcher shops, real ice cream made on site, etc.
I always roll my eyes when people talk about buying local and supporting farmers markets…
