I just don’t think you can create an honest biography about a human being without mentioning that they had the kind of personality that could coldly describe in their diary summarily executing people - “I ended the problem with a .32 caliber pistol, in the right side of his brain.... His belongings were now mine.”

“I’d like to answer that question, but because I didn’t speak very well about that topic in the past, I will not speak about it again. Next question, please.”

No evidence that kids are vaping more than they smoked. Also, vaping among junior high and high school kids peaked 3 years ago, and has decreased since then.

Most of the research disagrees with you.

This is vital insight. There must be a way for you to get this information to her before it’s too late.

It’s also possible that there’s really nothing to be upset at.

This is true. But just because some people find something offensive doesn’t mean there’s actually something wrong with that thing.

She looks fine. How are you, though?

And just today, I’m reading about this similar hoax, but bigger, targeting humanities studies.

I think it’s possible to stick around to hear CK’s set and still be a “decent, conscientious” person. If someone agrees that a behavior is negative and unacceptable, they can still be “decent” and “conscientious” if they disagree with some people about what the proper consequences are for those behaviors.

I think they’d be justified in calling their decisions bad or their tastes bad, or saying their doing a bad job with those properties. But that doesn’t make them “bad.” Internet communication too often takes us from “that’s a bad argument” to “you’re a bad person for making a bad argument.”

Sure, but thinking that someone is “bad” because they make decisions about movies which you wouldn’t make is really, really stupid.

That’s kind of a trick question. I’ve heard several rape jokes that have made myself and many women (all of whom, giving them the benefit of the doubt, are firmly on the “anti” side of the rape question) laugh. We found those jokes funny, while simultaneously finding rape to be a terrible thing. But if I repeat some of

Wow. This is terribly silly. “Objectively?” His “family” is why he’s been cast in over 50 films and multiple New York stage productions? I think you must be trolling. Your asserted credentials are, strangely, in doubt and simultaneously confirmed with this level of unhinged melodrama.

So, you’re a writer with an academic background. Your opinions of “good acting” are as relevant as a well-read actor’s opinions on “good writing.”

You’re confusing “what I like” with “what I know is good acting.” The former is unassailable. The latter, nonsense.

Sam, I hope you take Wilken42's criticism to heart. Often, you have to look a little deeper at a story than you thought. If you decide to come down strongly on a subject, you should be able to steel-man the arguments of those who disagree with you, and not reflexively use sensational items as an excuse to write

Not sure why someone would trust a judge and a prosecutor over the New Haven Hospital and the social workers who actually investigated the allegations. Then again, also not sure why you believe, with no evidence of prior or subsequent abuse, and with no medical evidence, that a world-famous celebrity would, during a

The “most favorable position” is that Allen is innocent and a good father to the children he’s raised.

I did a search of AV for “Moses Farrow,” looking for mention of his very important essay regarding his experiences growing up in the Farrow household and the day of the alleged abuse, and don’t know why it’s not been mentioned at AV, since it’s been available to read for three months.
