Scalpers suck, but isn’t one solution to stop treating these things as limited edition collectibles? Scalpers are drawn to situations where there is scarcity. Sometimes that scarcity is impossible to avoid. You can’t exactly just tell Taylor Swift or the Seahawks to triple the number of concerts/games they put on.

When these companies apologize does anyone actually believe it? They got their money and I often wonder just how many of these limited edition “scalped” products on eBay may be coming straight from the people who made them using a burner account

The apologists are as bad if not worse than the scalpers themselves, and I’d guess the venn diagram of the two is probably closer to a circle.

Fuck scalpers and their apologists.  They ruin literally everything they touch.

They can figure this out, they just don’t want to. You can read it in the half baked apologies and it emboldens them to allow it to happen when there are no negative consequences outside of generating hype due to scarcity. 

Scalpers truly ruin everything these days, it’s such a huge bummer. As someone that’s collected import Japanese figures from different series and manufacturers for years it’s a bummer to see the scalpers reaching so many new kinds of product and properties these days, nothing is safe.

It annoys me that online merchants STILL haven’t figured this shit out.
