Around 5% of accusations of rape & sexual assault are false. That means that maybe 1 in 20 accusers is lying. It also means that 19 out of 20 of the accused are lying when they deny it (actually more, since many times one person has multiple allegations against them). I’m not a court of law, but it seems really clear

You can tell that this one hits the bros very close to home because the doubling down on what is chronic sexual harassment at best, and sexual assault at worst (It’s legally not considered assault in some states but it should be) is deafening.

I’m worried they won’t just scream about false accusations. I’m worried they’ll actually conspire to create false accusations, set up a situation that plays out like Kevin Spacey or Louis C.K., and then reveal that the whole thing was made up, and say now look, you can never believe these women. I seriously think this

“But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them.”

I was gonna post the same thing: Who the hell thought that movie wasn’t inappropriate in the first place. A 17 year old girl and a 68 year old man? Yeah, ok, sure.

How on earth did people think I Love You, Daddy would be a good thing to distribute in the first place.

Two good tweets I’ve read on the matter:

This is exactly what we need: there should never have been such protection and immunity for sexual predators. My only fear is the huge backlash that is coming: nobody gives up privileges without a fight, and preying on women and children without real fear of reprisal has been a huge one for centuries.

Yup. Anyone who relies on that many silencing and distracting techniques in their statement has something to hide. The terrible thing is, I bet it’s worked for him before.

YEESSSS!

That’s the thing: notice the “dark times” he’s referring to aren’t those of women being sexually assaulted (as this article seems to imply at the end of the Piven section) - no, the “dark times” we’re facing are because “allegations are being printed as facts.”

They also smoothed away her pecs, but that’s a whole ‘nother story.

To the obviously non-natural-haired, non-Black people commenting about how they don’t what the problem is and people are getting outraged for no reason:

Solange, not Beyonce. Solange.

Honestly, my first impression was that they removed her hair to look more “Other” (i.e. exotic and otherworldly) in the way African-heritage women are often depicted in fashion shoots. To me that’s not her look at all - she has more of a fresh, girl-next-door type of beauty - but they’re forever trying to style her

“mere allegations”

Removing sexual predators from an industry where they can use their power to force young women into unwanted situations isn’t productive?

Even now Jeremy thinks he can intimidate these women into silence. He’s disgusting enough, but his current behavior trying to silence people in this manner is really gross. If there are more victims, please come forward and take this fucker down.

Dear Jeremy Piven,

Ironically, women have been “torn down” since the dawn of civilization due to men thinking that access to a woman’s body is their right.
