Agreed. Teardrop and pop-up campers are very popular. This is perfectly adequate.

It probably won’t even be that good IRL. I am presently learning first hand that 4-cylinder turbos are fun and zippy and get the same or worse mpg as NA V6s. Even when I’m not screwing around, our new RDX returned 22 over a 300-mile highway trip. TX speed limit 75 = cruise set on 83. If you really care about fuel…
Haters gonna hate. The bed of a Santa Cruz will see as much work as the bed of most F150 Platinums. If you know your true requirements, why overbuy?
5th: I know it makes Dave Ramsey cry, but I like leasing and that’s that. My pickup is paid off and well maintained and should last forever. But the mama-mobile is going to be a little bit of a splurge. I want her and the kids in something new, safe, reliable, and under warranty. Other guys golf, gamble, and buy…
Good comment. That would be tough. My Accord Sport manual had a 2-second brake hold feature which was really great.
I love LOVE manuals. First five cars were all manual - a Saturn SC2 :-), a Mustang, a Mazda3, an Accord Sport. Great fun, didn’t mind traffic one bit. When I decided to get a small pickup truck for a variety of reasons, I went for the automatic (2015 Tacoma) because it just suits the character of the vehicle better. It…

Totally agree. Just lamenting that fact that it will never happen.
Was gonna suggest this, but we got the Supra and they only pulled that off with a BMW partnership. I can’t see a Porsche deal to share mid-engine platform, much less coming in cheaper than the Supra...
I don’t know if anyone else is watching gas prices, but yeah, seems like a good time for small cars to come back.
I’m hoping it’s the 4.0L V6 in my Tacoma...
Even stories about Democrats somehow become stories about Trump around here. And are only tangentially car-related. But hey, any excuse to write even MORE about New York The Known Center Of The Universe.
We got lucky and my mom’s 2006 CRV was available. I paid her about $2500 (pre-Covid fair market value), with 110K miles.
I got $35K trade in for my 2019 MDX last month. FWD Tech with 25K miles. Right in line with the Edmunds, Carmax, Carvana estimates. Saw it listed on the dealer’s website the next week for $41K. It did need new tires which would have cost me $900+, and a new windshield $1200+. And they made me a surprisingly good deal…
I mean, cool, I guess. But come on dude, you can get a lot more speed than that for $15K.
We managed to score (I think) a nice deal on a new Acura RDX last month. The dealer had been sending mailers wanting to buy back our current lease early, a 2019 MDX. So I went over to let them run numbers on a new one.
I’ll be darned if that stance doesn’t work from the rear 3/4 view.
NP for nostalgia. My first (working) car was a ‘99 SC2. That was before they changed the headlights and added the third door. It was red, manual, sunroof. I loved it so much. I’m sure if I could drive it again now I’d laugh at how slow it is, but it made me feel awesome.
If you have to ask...
