You don’t, that’s the problem. Everybody says buy a manual E60 M5, but they’re unicorns in my experience. I’m sure BMW might sell you an E60 M5 manual transmission for a jillion dollars, but that defeats the purpose of the visceral thrills for pennies on the dollar. The only conversions I’ve seen use an e90 M3 manual

I say this with full respect for you posting this as a Ball State alumnum, but... this should be a headline tomorrow, right?

I feel like I’m on Reddit and clicked on one of those “when you see it...” pics...

Yeah, but 48 miles in 14 years...

This is me totally not arguing with you at all. I’m not scared of a refresh either. But this one has a little rust and is just... weird. Fascinating, especially this inflated market (thanks Porsche bros). I don’t think it will command top dollar. And if it does, I want to read an interview with the buyer.

Yeah I just got that number from a comment on BaT. I wish it was that simple on my V10 but you gotta do the whole tranny... maybe someday.

Yeah, I doubt it was bought as an investment or collector piece. Makes no sense stored in a carport, like you said. I’m thinking someone’s vacation home ride that they never ended up driving for whatever reason?

Add the requirement for 2 carseats. Now do you get it?

Manual conversion is what, $2500 in these? If I could convert my M5 for that I’d do it in a heartbeat. Fuck originality, this car needs someone to make up for lost time.

SMG was state of the art at the time. It gets hated on but it was necessary. They have a certain character that I enjoy. They got much better when they got the DCT in 2008.

Saw this on BaT this morning and knew it would be picked up here. I look forward to the debate about whether it’s ok to buy an M3 and then park it for 14 years.

IOh geez i’dlovlove to respind to this if kinja didn't suck ass

You can get to 610hp with just a tune. The difference in the SVR is mostly just tuning and it makes 575hp.

I’d like to hear a well-reasoned argument for hating CJ. I'm guessing I'll be waiting a long time.

As much as we like to make fun of lux SUVs never seeing an offroad trail, I just wanted to point out that Land Rover’s terrain management is awesome *on* road in gnarly weather. The first week that I had my RR Sport we got caught in a freak heavy hail/snownstorm coming over the Snoqualmie Pass (a drive we do at least

Yep, first thing I did to my RR Sport was buy a set of nicer OEM wheels off EBay from somebody in Florida that swapped them for aftermarket wheels the day they bought it.

Eh, I think you’re in the minority with that opinion, or maybe you’re just taking the stars from Jalopnik’s I-hate-everything-but-my-car contingent? IMO, that is the best-looking crossover on the market today. Everything else looks like the same egg with a different corporate angry face painted on it.

*gets off soapbox* OK, you got me, the fact that they’re crap is the real reason I won’t buy one. But the airbag thing didn't help either!

Whoa, Super Street is still a thing? I guess that makes sense. I remember when my friends were either in the Super Street, Truckin’, or Hot Rod camp. There was no crossover and many arguments on the junior high playground basketball court. This has been your daily reminder that I am old.

Change oil and send a sample to Blackstone Labs, especially if it’s a rod bearing eater like an e90 m3 or e60 m5 (i have one of each). Their analysis will tell you a lot more than you think, like silica content to determine if your air filters are filtering.
