Could one dip the cut side into a milk/egg mixture before frying?
Pain Perdu becomes Beignet Perdu.

Any food article that uses “nixtamalized” wins the day. Here’s to all the science that makes our food.

This brought back the most wonderful memory. A family trip to Greece in 2015 for my sister’s 50th birthday. We stayed at an AirBnB in Nafplio for a week, the host provided some stuff for breakfast (Mom started buying Lavazza coffee as soon as she got home). The yogurt came from a local dairy, simply spectacular stuff.

Having worked in the electronics installation field for many years, I don’t recommend using electrical tape, it leaves a sticky residue. Painter’s tape works pretty well and is meant to be removable. I admit the bright blue may not be aesthetically pleasing, but it won’t gunk up your gear.

Love these light dimming stickers:

A bit late to the party, I know. Got stuck in internet traffic.

My scale gets a daily use for all kinds of cooking. My 44 Gram Soup was born of a single 44 gram stalk of celery.

During the early weeks of the lockdown, I kinda lost track of the day of the week. I added a repeating reminder in my calendar “Compost Check” the evening before trash day. It reminds me to check the fridge for things to put into the green compost bin and to check all my trash cans to see if they need to be emptied.

Bread. America’s Test Kitchen Creamless Tomato Soup uses a couple of slices of crustless white bread torn up. The bread dissolves but adds body when pureed. Works with any decent white bread, I’ve also used a stale ciabatta roll.

One other idea, if you have the time: boil and saute in the same pan. Prep 8 oz mushrooms (quartered works very well), into a large skillet (you want to crowd the pan), barely cover with water (yup, they’ll float), a glug of olive oil and 1/2 tsp kosher salt . High heat, uncovered, let ‘em boil until all the water is

I submitted 3 requests (address & telephone number) on Sept 29 at 8:30am. Approvals came in at 6pm that day. I’ve also submitted requests to Intelius and PeopleSearch, they deleted my info as well.

No one interested in a Bell Burger?
It’s remarkable to realize that the original TB menu had 5 items and the sign included the correct pronunciation-
Taco (“tah-co”) 15 cents
Tostada (“tos-tah-dah”) 25 cents
Burrito (“buh-ree-to”) 25 cents
Frijoles (“free-ho-les”) 15 cents
Bell Burger 25 cents

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes 1953
Forget that cover story about gold diggers trying to trap a rich man. This movie’s heart is a love story between Marilyn and Jane. They are inseparable, true to each other, defending and protecting each other and wait for the last shot, at the double wedding, the camera zooms in on the two

I’ve never been able to adjust to soft scrambled eggs, but I accept my limitations. My “Treat Yourself” is a cheese souffle for one with the very best Gruyere and a wee dollop of Dijon. Magic.

Now, where did I stash my egg slicer? This is such genius, it makes the egg go further and adds the buttery perfection of the Ritz (rice crackers Martha? Really?) Another for the Claire Collection in my recipe database.

Yay! Kindred spirit! Bubbie’s Pickles + Kerrygold Savory Sliced Cheddar + Whole Wheat Bread = Happiness. A lovely finish is a cold, crisp apple for dessert.

One of those coincidences only the internet could provide, this article comes right on the heels of my watching the 1947 noir gem “Dead Reckoning”. In the movie, the all-kinds-of-awesome Lizbeth Scott’s favorite cocktail is a Ramos Gin Fizz. A very specific order, right? I paused the movie to look it up. This New

Best thing I ever bought, Clevermade Totes.

One of my favorite things as a kid-mix the cinnamon sugar into the margarine (we kept kosher, butter was also more expensive), spread it on sliced white bread, put it under the broiler until the paste caramelized. The top was crunchy, the bottom warm and soft. Serve with chocolate milk. Good memory.
