Don’t most people announce an engagement without a wedding date set? When I proposed to my husband, we didn’t wait to figure out when the wedding would be before telling people we were engaged.

A brief disclaimer?  I don’t understand if there is some legal reason that they shouldn’t do it, but it seems so harmless and easy to add.

I think maybe part of the fear for the producers is if future leads do the same thing. What if they start wanting to end things early because they’ve decided on one person? It messes up their season. I stopped watching the last couple seasons, but kept watch Lauren Zima’s recaps.  I haven’t even been keeping up with those this season.  It seems so bananas though I should probably do a binge to catch up.
