Awesome info Robert - thanks for sharing - I was on the Midway tour a couple of years ago in San Diego and the guide told us they lowered the hangar, so I guess I have a good excuse to return and set him straight! :)

I guess one of the reasons the height of the Tomcat was an issue for the Midway would be that the hangar bay was lowered to accommodate the second angling of the deck. It made the ship top heavy and they had to reduce height!
