I wasn’t the only one that only bought the soundtrack right? Did anyone actually see the movie?
I only just recently watched it for the first time. How can a movie so bad have such a great soundtrack?

Yep. It was an amazing time for the soundtrack...for me, the best way to have a variety of tunes in the car.
My mother came to visit, so I had a good excuse to be relatively unplugged (besides the national holiday). I only used my phone/computer for benevolent purposes to add to her visit (looking up restaurants, GPS usage, showing photos). All and all, doesn’t seem much different.
We want to hear how your unplugged weekend went—whether you participated in the National Day of Unplugging or just…
it wasn’t the cultural touchstone that the first movie was - it couldn’t be - but it made a fuss. I liked it...
movies and soundtracks had a huge impact on all our young lives back then.. they were gateways that showed us worlds we didn’t know existed and made us hungry for more of the same... Trainspotting was one of those soundtracks, every track made me want to explore that artists and style, Pulp Fiction was another…
Trainspotting’s soundtrack is as brilliant as the film. Too bad everyone ignored the incredible sequel.
That and the little seen sequel Hackers, (“Renton Does America” as it was released as in some territories).

I give up Facebook for Lent. sure, I’ve missed a few events here and there and didn’t learn that a close friend lost his father until the wake & funeral had passed, but I got to read a few paper books for 40 days!
If you feel like you spend too much time on your phone, take a break this weekend and participate in the National…
Nice. It’s weird to remember a time when you (or at least your parents) would order something that wouldn’t be delivered for 6-8 weeks.
Were you around for Service Merchandise catalogues? That and Sears was my shit.
Going into “back in my day” old-man mode here, but when I was a kid, I couldn’t wait for the Sears and JC Penney holiday catalogues to come out, so I could flip though the toy pages and get Christmas ideas.
And so goes the temple of my youth. It’s weird to be sentimental about a place that you can understand is a soulless company that shut out smaller, more personal stores.
The Dowd abides.
