Surely she died, what with finally letting go of the heart and all, but I also read it more as a dying dream/fantasy. Incidentally, that is how I also choose to interpret that awful Lost business.

Ultimately, the biggest problem for me was the way the sideways stuff undermined the island plotline. Yin and Sun's tragic demise for instance wasn't very affecting because there was a spare set of them running around and by that point it seemed like Desmond was figuring out a way to collapse the timelines into one or

Actually, they're still throwing various bits of misdirection our way, trying to imply that Robin might run out, or maybe it's a double wedding with other people or something. But yes, the saga of Barney and Robin is becoming reeeeally tired.
