They are building a lot of CUVs, which are not your father’s SUVs. Have you seen the mpgs on these things? Many are getting over 30 mpg.  A far cry from the days of 12-15 mpg truck-like SUVs.

Friendly reminder that removing Trump from office means replacing him with Mike Pence. I’m more afraid of Pence than I am of Trump. Trump trash talks a lot, but he’s polarized the GOP and stalls out on getting his wishes granted. Pence would know how to both unite the GOP and get his policies out there.

1st Gear/2nd Gear:

I hate being that pedantic, but Ohio and Michigan wouldn’t have had enough electoral votes to flip the 2016 election. Clinton still would have needed 4 more electoral college votes.

Yeah he seems to just be building mythology at this point. The big, smart investors didn’t panic, so I don’t really buy it. With today’s standardized accounting, it’s not possible for a public company to be playing down impending doom unless you’re distributing fraudulent information.

I love Tesla, but at this point, I’m much more apt to believe that Musk is saying whatever it takes make him look like a hero, rather than believe his words outright.

The cement salesman’s favorite!

It doesn’t help that the president wants to overheat the economy by wanting the fed to slash interest rates down despite the modest increases they’ve made to stop it from happening. Not to mention the already ludicrous tax cuts. When the recession comes, there aren’t going to be any levers to pull to get us out of it.

Just how bad is this upcoming downturn that Mary Barra is preparing for going to be?

Please, with the power thing. I have 187 in my stupid (but fun) Mazda CX-5 and it’s MORE than enough for everyday driving. I have owned cars with 510, 400 and have 340 as my other daily. I never use that power, and hence keep going down the HP range. What are you guys doing that you need so much power?

They’ve been letting people drive on the wrong side of the road forever but they’re worried about our ‘Stang?

Bloody health and safety people in the UK. That’s why you can’t have nice things over there any more.

The article here is about the new 2.5T, which puts out 310 ft-lbs of torque. That’s a lot!

The Miata's 2.0 has to push 1000 less lbs. I'm betting the 2.5 isn't meant to be a revvy engine meant to be wrung out. You lose high end power for low end.

There’s this whole thing called NVH, fuel economy, and a usable powerband....

I think its because it doesn’t use any gas? My wife’s CX5 has better lifetime fuel economy than my Fiesta ST.

Didnt realize everyone on Jalopnik drives GT3s and Raptors.

It’s actually pretty interesting, considering Subaru just dropped the turbo in this segment. Not to mention that the CX-5 is a great car if you’re considering a crossover, which virtually everyone is.

Um, the hordes of people buying this crossover? This is the hottest part of the car market right now. Stupid comment.
