I watched the video as well, and tho it was not clear, that light flashes red when the car’s body, which is otherwise grounded, becomes live, due to the isolation of the electrical components being compromised. The video makes it seem like the flashing red light is something that can occur with regular use... but…

Yes, because the safety of others is ridiculous. You should just step off your soap box. I’m not talking about technology that prevents accidents. I’m talking about Airbags, Crumple Zones, Reinforced interior, etc. Things that old cars did not have. 

What don’t you understand? If you have a choice between a car with airbags, and a car without airbags, you choose the car with airbags. It may not matter to you personally, that is your prerogative, but for those that will be riding in your vehicle, it becomes a priority.
