I was stung by a scorpion in Afghanistan and it haunts my fucking dreams. In 2010, me and 7 of my teammates went on a 10 day recon patrol. One night, while half asleep i felt something crawling up my pant leg (outside of my pants) and instinctively reached down to swat it off only to feel a weird skeleton bug and a

Now playing

Is that going to stop me from embedding this image [of a goateed Charlie Sheen dressed like Chandler Bing] in your brain, much the way disgusting scorpions embed their venomous tail stingers in your juicy eyeballs? Not on your life, buddy.

This is how they’ve been playing for a few years now. They’re remarkably good at advancing runners, combining stolen base attempts with directional hitting to move guys from first to third on a single, and punishing opposing teams. I’m a Rangers fan and I love when they do this shit, even when it’s against us. Fun

It’s the slight smirk (which is phenomenal). To often these things are emotionless (Ray Lewis) or they get the smile wrong (Sanders). This is actually how Reed may have looked after owning your ass. It's magnificent.

Agreed. I love me some sabremetrics but it's still cool as hell to see a bulldog want the ball for 120 pitches

The Ryan connection makes all the sense of the world. Watching Verlander now feels what it must have been like to watch Nolan in Houston in the 80s in his late 30s. Just a genetic freak (sorry, Scott) who seems like his arm is not gonna fall off, small window of arm problems a few years ago aside.

Shit, racism in that office was the rule, not the exception for most of our history, covering multiple races. Even Presidents we consider to be the best we’ve ever had have had negative views on other races.

I agree this was well written. I’m bummed the crowd didn’t acknowledge Novak more. I actively root against him, but a great achievement after a great match is worthy of recognition.

I would love to know how many majors were won by each of the 3 greats sans each other due to injury or whatever. Like how many majors did

You write so well. Thanks.

Following this game, I just once again considered how fortunate I have been, even as a casual, to have been able to follow the sport during the Federer/Nadal/Djokovic(/Murray) era. Especially since I realize that it will only hit me how special it has been after it has ended.

Federer won 36 total games - at least six in each set - and somehow lost the match. I could live ten lifetimes and not see that in a grand slam finals again.

How's it feel to finish an NBA story and have to immediately write another

Dumb question for sure.

3 sets is plenty.

I’m in early on the “Jamal Murray > Simmons, Brown, and Ingram” taek.

Deadspin, Friday: The Raptors are completely, and irrevocably fucked

Joel Embiid, blown out, seeks a solid performance to avoid elimination.

Jim Butts has been the best Sixer this series.  He’s a good player and all, but that’s an issue.
