Take those away and Sam is still human. Steve also had a team of super people and an organization to back him up on top of his powers. Now the Avengers and apparently SHIELD are no more. Sam has a lot less to work with.

Months? Last I checked, BvS was in 2016 so how did you spend months being hit with this so called ethos? Especially with several other superhero movies and shows that weren't made by Snyder coming out at the time? Did you watch a movie you hated over and over again just to have something to complain about?

There are plenty of earnest takes on superheroes. People just like conplaining about tge grimdark ones or exaggerating how dark they are. Though you can Watch Superman and Lois if a “fun, uplifting Superman” is what you’re looking for.
