“Very important” to Exhibitor Relations Co’s Twitter account and “theatre owners” in attendance maybe. Hey, I hope after all of these years it’s a fun movie that doesn’t waste Keaton’s return, but this hyping the pre-release hype feels like it was ghost-written by Zaslav.

“What it ends up doing is make people roll their eyes. That’s my worry.... I do want things to change, for real. Workplaces should be places where everyone can feel safe—not just in Hollywood, but everywhere. Particularly Americans. We can never do things incrementally; we’re so binary, so all or nothing. We’re

“Amir in his bedroom in Cairo wrote to me to earnestly appeal that ‘Cleopatra was Greek!’ Oh, Lawd! Why would that be a good thing to you, Amir? You’re Egyptian.”

I think this post just won a Humanitas Award.

Classic Pfeiffer!

Pretty sure this guy’s been dressed like Desmond Pfeiffer in every photo I’ve seen of him.

What’s the novelty? Is her act funny for a change?

Can anyone recall a single joke she’s done and explain what exactly makes it funny?

Get Brett Weir I sang!

I mean, the recent article on this site about Roald Dahl books being clumsily edited by their publisher had a distinct “censorship is good, actually!” tone about it, and that was from this same writer, so I don’t think they have any sort of consistent point of view. They just snark in every possible direction, and

The culture asked for it. No one in particular in most of these cases, no. But companies have seen too many tempests in the Twitter teapot and now employ certain people whose job it is simply to avoid fiascos. (Never mind that these “sensitivity edits” result in their own, different fiascos. The way things are going

I absolutely agree that we should get off fossil fuels, but blowing up pipelines isn’t going to do it. The problem with eco-terrorism is the same problem with terrorism in general -- they alienate far more potential supporters to your cause than the few who are impressed by it.

This the right take - who on earth is asking for this?

Here is a word about Eternals 2:

You know I haven’t gotten in on shitting on the site’s now-maybe-nonexistent copy editing before, but “Is not have a good month”

Well then you can’t work for The AV Club then.

I haven’t seen a ton of Kidman material, but what I have experienced, I thought was watch-worthy.  So I don’t really have feelings of snark regarding seeing her on screen.

These films were not snubbed. They were not Oscar-worthy. Just like Nope wasn’t Oscar-worthy.

I cannot overstate how glad I am that social media didn’t exist when I was 18 and saying the dumb crap that 18 year olds say.
