Don’t forget Godrick not to be confused with Godfrey not to be confused with Godwyn not to be confused with...Godefroy.  Godefroy?  Really dude?

See it’s funny, I’m totally with you on the Godskin Duo but I LOVED the Maliketh fight. It felt fair to me in a way that Godskin Duo or say, that stupid Snow Level Giant Guy weren’t. He took me awhile to learn the moves of but eventually I was dodging most of his attacks. Maybe it’s a question of build?

I wasn’t being terribly formal with the “charge of” thing, just curious. That is indeed some shitty stuff. If he was some shitty dumb teen five years ago I’d cut him a bit more slack but no, turns out the dude was mid twenties.  So fair enough!

Honest question, because I’ve got no horse in this race, but I’ve never heard the charge of misogynist leveled against Hasan. Does he have a history of being shitty to women that I’m not aware of?

I disagree, I just don’t think the Souls games would’ve developed such a strong cult following if they had a difficulty slider. I (personally) would’ve started the game on the normal difficulty, quickly cranked that down to “easy” and then breezed through a game that I’d probably never play or think much a bout again

gotcha, yeah I suppose I could see the issues there.  Thanks for the info!

Oh man, I kinda envy you.  They’re great, you’re in for a treat!  To set your expectations: while 2 and 3 remakes are modern 3rd person shooter design, the first one is a classic, set camera angles, tank controls survival horror.  Still totally worth playing but might be a bit of a hump to get over at first.

I’d even say any of the REmakes, including RE1Remake, are very very solid games.  I’d even go so far as to say the originals they’re based on are mostly fun engaging games but I get that early survival horror jank is...not for everyone.

Psychonauts 2 was my GoTY.  To have years of anticipation (for some folks close to two decades!) totally paid off?  Kind of amazing.

Honest question, how was Brothers misogynistic? I only played a bit of it but it wasn’t my cup of tea, but this is the first time I’ve heard that charge leveled at it. My google search came up with nothing.

Agreeeeed.  Psychonauts 2 for my money was totally Game of The Year.  Twenty years give or take of anticipation and it delivered.  Oh well.

To be fair plenty of actual survival horror games have had far more engaging gameplay than the first Alan Wake.  Slower and creepier doesn’t neccesarily mean more boring and redundant.

I’m sorry, but there is ZERO excuse for a piece of media to not hook you with it’s plot in it’s first four hours. It’s called putting your best foot forward.

Yeah, I suppose I can’t complain, that fan translation was solid.  I’m more lamenting Nintendo’s practices which whatever the intention just feel very antagonistic to their fans sometimes.

It’s sad that Nintendo gives enough of a shit about this property to (probably) get litigious with folks like this who are simply wearing their heart on their sleeve, but don’t give enough of a shit to actually sell us westerners Mother 3 in any way, shape or form.

From just reading the headline I assumed this was a lawsuit by the devs of Mad Dog McCree.  Shout out to the 90's kids who may or may not remember this shitty, shitty arcade game.

I do think that in some ways Ocarina was the last Zelda game that didn’t make me feel like I could complete all of it’s dungeons in my sleep.  After that one they just lost something.  I never again had that moment of being stumped by some small or large dungeon puzzle for a good bit, and having that immediate

“No other game had done 3d dungeons that elaborate”

I mean an article of uncritical excitement is pretty par for the course for a game that’s not actually out yet, that’s generally what previews are known for (I’m sure Kotaku and others will have no problem being critical once the reviews actually start coming out)

You know years later I listened to a podcast that does a bookclub on games, and they broke down the plot and I realized it’s actually really solid and I wish I stuck with it. Very seldom do we get a scifi videogame that’s just rehashing a better plot from a movie.
