Not bad overall, but slightly dull. It's a "be patient, it takes a while to get there" episode, which they've tried to spice up a bit with some success. Stray observations:

As far as I can tell, Avasarala's in this season so she can provide Earther context for political and personal background information that people in the first book never say out loud.
Dial it back a bit, would ya? For the past few weeks some of your context / not-spoiler posts have been a little too spoilery. You're not outright *saying* anything, but you're hinting a bit too hard for my taste.
BOOK SPOILERS (I know this is the thread for 'em, but just so there's no mistake. And I'm trying to be vague anyway.)
Ironic? Makes sense to me: you don't take risks with somebody else's stuff.
5. My wife says everyone on the show is ugly… she says they finally cast a show with no pretty people, good for them. thoughts?
Yes, but the sketch was also annoying as hell. It can be two things.
Yeah, my reaction to this was "Ooh, I can watch Ruth Wilson in something that's not Luther!" (But Agate, you hate horror movies!) "Still an improvement!"

I hear the kids nowadays are doing this thing with a semicolon and a parenthesis. But I guess the kids aren't getting paid for word count.
I adored The Yiddish Policeman's Union. The Amazing adventures of Cavalier and Clay, I thought, was a bit dull by comparison. Gentlemen of the Road was fun, though I saw an important plot twist coming a mile away.
Well, the book was published two years before The Abyss, so probably not. Possibly the other way around?
After lots of self-reflection, I've managed to get it down to no more than one or two Civ games a year. But I've made peace with the fact that as soon as I fire up the game, the next 36 hours of my life are going to be a total black hole, so I plan for that. There's no way off the "one more turn!" merry-go-round…
You may remember encouraging me to stick with The 100 through episode 5 when I was waffling on it earlier.
When the wife's away, I watch movies she wouldn't like. This weekend, it was Sicario and Sucker Punch, which unexpectedly turned out to be an interesting double feature. They're both "battle of the sexes" action movies with the female heroes and horrible men, but other than that they're pretty much complete…
Seriously, the whole article is extended quotes from the article accompanied by near-verbatim summaries of the quotes. When the students in my college classes pull this crap, I call it plagiarism. Some of them are shocked to hear that because they've been taught that that's how you write an essay, but a journalist…
