You get used to it. I don't even see the code. All I see is blonde, brunette, redhead…

It's definitely not trying to make fun of it, and IMO it's one of the weakest parts of a great movie. (It's a boring scene, and it's hard for the viewer to tell what's significant in the images.)

Nonono, I don't just mean that it's a sleek black touchscreen console, I mean it's literally an iPad on a gimbal.

Good news for you, then: forty years later, the New York subway still uses those control panels.

One of the things that bugs me about The Expanse, much as I love it, is that the spacecraft control panels are basically an iPad on a swivel mount. It won't be long before people look at that and go "Ugh, that is *so* 2015".

Has anybody done a history of the "Enhance!" trope? Who did it first, or at least popularized it? I've got a feeling like it might have been Blade Runner.

Say your family is having a reunion get-together. You save up to buy a plane ticket, but your brother just throws it onto his credit card. Afterward he says that since it was a family get-together, the whole family should chip in to pay off his credit card.

The fact that Jefferson's rapping and calling it a "musical" is where they'll go completely bonkers.

He explains in the next few lines:

or a lot of patience. (But if you play the orbital long game, the inner planets have time to respond. It's an interesting strategic problem.)

It's a disguise, they're pretending to be a gas freighter rather than a warship.

Let's have a Random Roles and find out!

First movie I saw with friends rather than family. I wasn't ready for dates yet, but some of the friends were girls and that was scary.

I mean, you're right I haven't seen The Patriot. But still,

I think it's pretty safe to say that anybody who's eating MREs has bigger things to worry about than what dinner tastes like.

Vacuum also means absolute zero temperature

A friend of mine linked that story on her FB just now. He wasn't even present yet: just the mere *threat* of Alan Rickman scared Mewes into getting his shit together (for probably the only time in his life.)
