Defender!?!? ahhhh to dream...

You've been looking forward to your high school reunion and seeing your old crush, the lean, athletic girl that always had a little attitude. She was always so intimidating.

I agree with you... I've been watching this market for some time. I think as the SUV merges with the crossover and they all go the way of blandness and sameness, the market for unapologetic utility will increase. The FJs are some of the first, I honestly think the Jeep Cherokee XJ will bottom out and start climbing

This:

I think you're probably right, which begs the question where it's going to sit on the luxury/utility scale. If it's on the luxury side they could be scalping sales from the Evoque/Range Rover lines. If it's more on the utility side, it's got to have some serious chops to justify that price over Wrangler Rubicons.

Dear Dillon Marketing Dept., stop using 80s and 90s rock n' roll. The M134 sounds awesome enough on its own. Sincerely, 'Murica

My guess is they are aiming to compete against the Wrangler. The concept was a 2-door. I bet the final version comes in 2 & 4 door variants. Jeep has been slowly pushing their vehicles more and more up market (leather and heated seats in the Wrangler???), they are going to be knocking Land Rover's door soon.

I had a similar experience with my wife years ago at a Honda dealer. She was pregnant at the time and we were testing a CRV as our first baby-mobile. Dealer only addressed me, to the point where he would answer her questions to me. During the test drive he actually pointed out the cup holders and said, "Women only

Not really a classic but if you do it right... Jeep Wrangler JK. These things have stupidly high resale value. Used 4 door Wranglers will sell for more than brand new Grand Cherokees.

I spent a decade in the AF Research Lab working on Wide-Area starting back with the original Angel Fire (not mentioned in the article but the original WAMI system).

I moved away from St Louis in the Air Force and then back. I hate the High School question! The first time I heard it I said, "People are still doing that around here?" It's like going up to a complete stranger and asking, "How much money do your parents make?" (Notice the question isn't 'How much money do you

I agree with you. I'm a fellow St Charles person... I have twice the house at half the price as the West County/Chesterfield people. I'm sure that's why they are moving to our neighborhood too.

Desolate? There are still a few people that live here. Also yes it's old money, the city is a good 70 years older than Chicago.

Alissa is spot on. I was born and raised in St Louis, spent 10 years in the Air Force and moved back. It has been a very weird readjustment. The best way to describe St Louis is very Old World. Think 'Old Money.' Think 'tight-ass country-club.'

"Should have hired Elon Musk ;)"

I don't know... at least Belfort isn't pretending he's not a crook.

I love these Doug DeMuro CarMax posts. It inspired me so I drove a CarMax BMW 1-Series last night. Prices are actually very close to the dealerships... I just can't decide if I want to pay for the warranty? I'm not sure it would pay for itself on a 1-series?

Completely agree! While this is technically not on eBay it is less than $20k at $19,995. I think I need to buy it.

Amko, why is the interior color palette so boring for average consumer cars? Today, you get to choose between dark grey, black, or tan. If you spend the big bucks you might get some accent stitching or piping but otherwise it's blando commando.
