Totally. It’s been a while since I read the book so I genuinely thought I was misremembering. It’s not a surprising change, just makes me wonder how certain things will now be handled. Might remove a lot of the emotional resonance, but I won’t judge it till I see it!

It’s not a bad thing. This book is getting shit mostly because of when the film is coming out, but if the film came out in 2008, we’d have far fewer complaints (people are really into “nostalgia-shaming” now.)

Am I wildly misremembering this book, or does it look like they’re making MAJOR changes to the plot so Wade meets Artemis face to face much earlier? He only finds out what she looks like at the end-is of the book but a lot of the film shots have shown them together.

Yes, this is actually the most important part. He’s fantastic.

Hahaha, right?! I won’t claim that they’re amazing movies, but they do actually raise wonderfully aware social questions, to the point that I don’t regret watching either film!
