Yea the puzzles and the bosses were stunningly done. How can someone wish for tougher puzzles but more explanatory bosses? Makes me feel if it was the other way around the review would state the puzzles were too nerve wrecking n poorly communicated tothe player while the bosses too simplified

The two fights with Jack are alright because they offer you unique and interesting experiences and mechanics, but after that the boss fights just boil down to unloading ammo into bullet sponges and dodging attacks for several minutes at a time with nothing really interesting happening...

Totally agree. I recently played through REmake and the puzzles were a total cake walk. I don’t even really see them as puzzles in that game or in VII; more like an interesting way of dictating the pacing and showing the player how the map is connected while working in some atmosphere and backstory.

They also saved a crazy number of Jews during WWII, and their commitment to the color orange is admirable.

Anything that includes the protagonist has to be done real time. In the original trilogy it was mainly just the space scenes that were pre-rendered.

I can kiiiinda see why people are saying “Wait you kickstarted the first game and it was a success, why do you need to crowdfund again?!” and why they said the same thing about Banner Saga, but on the other hand, now we KNOW both companies have a good track record of actually taking the crowdfunded money and releasing…

Yeah, and I’m surprised at the negative opinion on the puzzles TBH, people gotta take their Rose tinted nostalgia glasses off, because the original res evil puzzles weren’t much more complex either. A few strong ones, but most were either obvious if you have it a thought, or just “find x key items to open this door”

They mostly felt the same though. You target a weak point, dump a truck load of bullets into them, victory.
