Jake's 'okay okay okay' after that was so weird and so great.

Andre Braugher has been such a revelation on this show, it's the best he's been since Homicide. I don't know if any of you watched him in Last Resort (CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES) which is a role he basically sleepwalked through, but it's a wonder what good writing will do for an actor.
I'm sure we've had this discussion before but is Jake supposed to be Italian? Peralta doesn't sound very Jewish to me.
I legit snorted out loud at that line. I know some people really don't like Gina, but Chelsea Peretti could read the phone book at me and I would laugh. She has such a wonderfully bizarre way of delivering her lines that even the most innocuous sentences come out hilarious. Like, she had one line in this episode after…
I love Mopey DA Carl!
Sandra Bernhard was such inspired casting for (Re)Gina's mom. I totally believe she'd be the kind of person to cry when her daughter was born because she knew she'd never be better than her.
If this episode has taught me anything, it's that Brüggen is spelt exactly nothing like it's pronounced.
I must be thick - or a part of my brain must shut down when I watch sitcoms - because I didn't call the twist with Holt's plan at the end. Maybe that's why I found this episode to be one of the funniest they've ever done.
I'm a fan of Mulaney but oh boy, the pilot was five different kinds of awful. He looked so stiff and uncomfortable as an actor, it actually made me really uneasy. Like, the bit where he talks about the upended wheelchair with Martin Short? Ugh.
It's not quite the miraculous turn-around they did with Andy Dwyer in Season 2 of Parks and Rec, but the writers have done a really admirable job in how they've managed to turn Jake from someone who made me groan and roll my eyes at in the pilot to a character who is now legitimately one of my favorites in the whole…
"You embarrassed me in front of Derek Jeter."
"YOU EMBARRASSED YOURSELF IN FRONT OF DEREK JETER."
Someone cast Terry Crews as an angry prostitute in a movie, STAT.
